Licensed Clinical Psychologist & Psychological Evaluator

I help adults achieve more fulfilling, meaningful lives.

Welcome. Bienvenido/a/x. Bienvenue.

A South Bronx native from New York City, I am a licensed psychologist based in Florida and owner/founder of Anima Psychological Services, PLLC. I specialize in providing psychoanalytic psychotherapy for adults, in addition to psychological assessments for a broad range of social, emotional, or cognitive concerns. I provide services in both English & Spanish.

For those seeking gender affirming medical care, I provide evaluations and referral letters that comply with WPATH standards of care.

I am also specifically trained in providing psychological evaluations for immigration cases, such as those involving hardship waivers, VAWA-relief, asylum, etc.

About Me.

I first earned my Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Latin American and Latino Studies from Brandeis University, and later pursued my Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling (2015) from the University of Miami. I earned my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology (2019) from the same institution. Prior to my current role as owner/founder and clinician in private practice, I completed my pre-doctoral internship at Florida International University Counseling and Psychological Services (FIU-CAPS). After internship, I went on to complete my post-doctoral residency in Clinical Health Psychology with a focus on adult outpatient services at Jackson Health System in Miami, FL.

To date, I have pursued advanced training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy with the Florida Psychoanalytic Center and ongoing specialization in providing gender-affirming care via various trainings and professional development experiences. I have also completed training in providing psychological evaluations for those seeking asylum or other immigration-related relief with Physicians for Human Rights and The Immigration Evaluation Training Center.

In my clinical work, I draw from my varied experiences across community clinics, college counseling centers, and hospital settings, where I have provided psychotherapy and psychological evaluations to emerging, middle, and older adults in both English and Spanish.

As a first-gen, queer, multiracial Latina and proud daughter of immigrants, I have a special appreciation for the unique challenges faced by immigrants and individuals who identify as BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, or any combination thereof. For this reason, I have sought to specialize in providing mental health care that is affirming and mindful of these lived experiences.
